With the 2024 national and state elections complete, let us keep in mind that God is sovereign; he is in control. No matter who won the election – God IS still on his thrown.
Then Daniel praised the God of heaven and said, “Praise be to the name God for ever and ever; widom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.” Daniel 2.20-22.
Let us join together to pray for our leaders and for our country. Many people often encourage each other by saying ‘God bless America’. They obviously mean well; but may a suggest that instead of asking God to bless America, purhaps we should focus on how we bless God.
As my wife and I celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary last month, allow us to share something I found in Marriage 101 Series, When Two Becomes One: A Christian marriage is the permanent union of two born-again people of the opposite sex coming together in every way possible (intimately, emotionally, financially, etc) for the purpose of radical oneness that is modeled in the Trinity of the Godhead and for the goal of encouraging and equipping one another for the time when each individually appears before Jesus. May the Lord bless each marriage that pursues this ideal.
